Lesson 16

In this video, students are introduced to the Flam Accent rudiment by first reviewing the fundamentals of the flam, then incorporating the two additional single strokes required. Hand position and stick height is discussed in great detail, and the instructor demonstrates each motion, as well as performs the exercise within the context of a full drumline. The lesson concludes with encouraging students to practice the exercise slowly for proper execution, then accelerate for mastery.
