Lesson 8

In this lesson, students are geared towards performance goals of playing the snare drum, crash cymbals, or bass drum part (covered in a previous lessons) to “The Moose” at a metronome marking of 96 beats per minute. The cadence is demonstrated by the instructor at the same time with a full drumline, and students are encouraged to play along. The tempo is then accelerated to 112 beats per minute, and the “The Moose” is executed at the new tempo. Students are encouraged to repeat the lesson until they are comfortable playing along at both tempo markings.
