Lesson 13
In this lesson, students are introduced to three techniques available in “Garage Band” to add musical variation to their compositions which are transposition, double or half speed, and splicing. Transposition affects the overall pitch range of a track, double or half speed affect the tempo, while splicing is a technique of cutting and pasting segments within a track. Students are guided through a sample composition where these techniques are explained and demonstrated, and the lesson concludes with students being encouraged to use these techniques to add musical variety to their compositions.
