Lesson 3

In this lesson, students are introduced to the fundamental instrumental percussion sounds needed to create Hip-Hop and Reggaeton beats (bass drum, snare drum and hi hat), and how to correctly program each groove into “Garage Band”.  Students will be guided through the steps of adding layers, and exploring with moving elements around within the beat to offer variations within the same style.  The lesson concludes with instruction on how to convert your created drum beats into loops that can be used as foundations for other songs.
