After-School Programs
Music Beyond the Bell
YMU offers after-school performing ensemble programs open to the community, including Rock Ensembles, Jazz Combos, Marching Bands, and Stage Production teams. Designed for students seeking a deeper understanding of music, these programs also serve as a workforce development pipeline, equipping them with the technical skills, industry knowledge, and professional experience needed to pursue higher education or careers in music.
Open to the Community
No audition required for most programs. Any Miami-area student in grades 5–12 can participate — regardless of experience level.
Workforce Pipeline
Programs are designed to prepare students for higher education and careers in music — from recording and production to performance and industry internships.
Always Free
Every after-school program is offered at no cost to students and families. YMU covers instruction, materials, and access — always.
