Our Mission

Young Musicians Unite believes that every student deserves access to music education regardless of their socio-economic background. We collaborate with schools to provide free music education, which has been proven to inspire personal development, foster a sense of community and prepare our future leaders.

What We Do

Currently serving over 12,000 students across 75 Miami-Dade, Young Musicians Unite (YMU) is the only in-school music education program for grades 5-12 in the county. YMU focuses on strengthening music education in Title I schools, ensuring students in communities have access to high-quality instruction and opportunities.

Through in-school and after-school programs, YMU partners with teachers and administrators to provide turnkey solutions — including teacher recruitment and training, instrument purchase and maintenance, curriculum design, assessment, and data tracking — helping schools launch and sustain outstanding music programs that inspire and empower students.

How We Do It

YMU partners with schools across complete feeder patterns, ensuring a seamless, continuous music education from elementary through high school. Our collaborative model fosters student demand, helping schools attract, retain, and grow enrollment—especially in neighborhoods where schools face declining student numbers.

By strengthening arts programs, YMU enhances the appeal of local schools, making it possible to sustain accessible, thriving music education even as funding for the arts continues to decline.
