
Lesson 6
In this video, students are guided through the notation and performance fundamentals necessary to perform the crash cymbal part to the four sections of “The Moose” and are shown a demonstration of each section after a discussion of its rhythmic counting, as well as a demonstration of the crash cymbal part being performed in context of the entire drumline. Students review clam shell position, choking technique, and crash technique which are demonstrated by the instructor, and students are also required to execute a crescendo. The lesson concludes by encouraging students to practice their crash cymbal part until fluidity is achieved.
