Lesson 10
In this lesson, students are introduced to the concept of pauses in between notes, known as rests. Students are introduced to the names and values of the different types of rests as well as their symbolic visual representation, and are performed in notation examples where the rest is placed in combination with its matching note value. Values covered include whole, half, quarter and eighth rests and notes. Students are then guided through a few notation examples combining the previously mentioned values in notes and rests. The lesson concludes by encouraging students to practice the notation lines for mastery.
