Lesson 7
In this lesson, students are guided through the performance techniques required to play “Don’t Worry, Be Happy!” on snare drum, as well as sing. In addition to alternating between playing on the rim and the drum head, students will review releasing the snare tension mechanism to obtain a tom tone from the drum. Students are also guided through the vocal scat introduction to the song, and then are challenged by combining both performance elements at the same time. The lesson concludes with encouraging the students to continue to practice for mastery and fluidity.
