Lesson 12

In this lesson, students are introduced to the musical importance of a bass line, and how to choose bass notes based on the names of the chords that are used for the chord progression. Students are walked through the “Garage Band” functions of adding bass notes through the “smart piano,” and are guided through a sample composition where the bass note techniques are applied, combined with a review of “Quantizing.” The lesson concludes by encouraging students to be creative by adding bass lines to their “Garage Band” compositions.
