Lesson 9
In this lesson, students are introduced to using Chord Progressions within “Garage Band.” An extensive music theory background is not required for this lesson, as the instructor reveals that the chords are already pre-constructed within “Garage Band,” and relates chord qualities of major, minor, and diminished to emotions of happy or sad. A few combinations of chords played in a 4-chord sequence are demonstrated, then students are walked through a demonstration of how to line up the chords with the metronome function and record progressions into “Garage Band.” The lesson concludes by encouraging students to create and record some of their own chord progressions into “Garage Band.”
